BMPS Closure due to industrial action

BMPS Closed for Learning on Thursday 16 March 

The NZEI Te Riu Roa (Primary Principals and Teachers Union) has advised Bairds Mainfreight Primary School board that its members at BMPS will be participating in industrial action on Thursday 16 March 2023. The Board has considered the number of kaiako/teachers involved in the strike and has decided that BMPS will be closed for learning.

Why are kaiako across Aotearoa going on strike?

Principals and teachers in primary and area schools (along with their secondary colleagues) have considered at length the offers from the government to settle the respective collective agreements.

The offers presented did not meet the expectations, nor make sufficient steps towards the changes needed for our tamariki to succeed.
