“ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE”

August 2023

Kia Ora, Kia Orana, Malo e Lelei, Talofa Lava, Fakalofa Lahi Atu, Bula Vinaka, Greetings to you all

There is a lot of excitement at BMPS, as we get ready for our special assembly to celebrate 30 amazing years with Mainfreight.

If you have been at BMPS over the last couple of weeks, you may have noticed that there are a few other exciting things happening.  Please read on, to find out a little more.

Invite to rehearsal

We would like to encourage you to come to our dress rehearsal for our 30th celebration on Wednesday 6 September. This will give you a better chance of getting a seat! We know that it will be standing room only at our

Friday assembly, so hopefully you can make Wednesday work.

30th T-Shirt

If you would like to order a Mainfreight/BMPS ‘thirty years’ t-shirt for your tamariki or for yourself, you can order it here: https://bmps.secure-decoration.com

Fale Blessing

On Tuesday 5 September at 9am, we will be blessing our beautiful, new fale. We would be delighted if you were able to join us for this special occasion.

Alleyway Art

We are fortunate to have an amazing artist, Rangi Matthews who is creating the stunning art on both of our alleyways. If you haven’t seen it already, come and have a look-it is beautiful!

Alleyways Closed: Please use Edward Avenue gate

From Monday 4 September, Leslie Place and Bairds Roads entrances will be closed, while we do some work inside the gates.  We are hoping that the gates will be open by Thursday 7 September at the very latest.  All tamariki will need to come to and leave school from our Edward Avenue gates.

Tonga Language Week

Next week is Tonga Language Week.  Please join us for our assembly on Monday 4 September at 9:15am in our hall.  We would like to invite tamariki to wear their cultural dress on MONDAY.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori

We are looking forward to celebrating Māori Language Week at BMPS.  There will be an assembly on Rāhina/Monday 11 Mahuru/September and Rāmere/Friday 15 Mahuru.  Watch this space for times.

Mainfreight Truck Art

Kiwi 4 have been developing their art skills by drawing, colouring and painting Uncle Bruce’s Bed Ford truck, Moody Blue. They have also enjoyed learning about different trucks and their specific purpose. Such wonderful talent and fabulous mahi from our Year 1s.

Duffy Champions

Recently, our BMPS tamariki have had the opportunity to write about their male role models and nominate them to win some special Duffy books and prizes. We have read about some amazing dads, uncles, papas and brothers; some of whom are also students at BMPS.

Here are some of the entries:

Thank you for being our special role models, and a special mihi to all of the dads for Fathers’ Day this Sunday.

Looking Ahead

Kiwi Classes are Moving (for a little while)

If you have any tamariki in Kiwi 3, 4, 5 or 6, please note that they will be moving to a temporary class while the Kiwi classes are updated.  This will be happening in the next couple of weeks.  We will contact you directly (using HERO) to let you know which class your child is moving to.  They will start term 4 in their new, temporary class.

End of Term Dates and Times

Term 3 will end on Friday 22 September at 1:30pm.

Term 4 Dates and Times

Labour Day: Monday 23 October (BMPS will be closed)
