This newsletter is to share some important information about attendance and about some of the great events happening at BMPS.

We Need Your Help!

This year BMPS has a focus on accelerating learning and ensuring that our tamariki have every opportunity to meet their learning goals. Our Board has paid for extra kaiako/teachers and support staff. Smaller classes and teacher aide support allows for small group and more one-to-one time for tamariki when they are learning.

Unfortunately, many of our student’s learning is being impacted by poor attendance. On a rainy day, up to 33% of our tamariki are absent from school. We have tamariki arriving late and being picked up early from school. We also have many of our tamariki who are absent on Mondays and or Fridays. This is having a direct impact on student progress.

Our tamariki need to be at school to learn. It is vital therefore, that if your child/children are well, that they are at school every day.

If tamariki are going to absent, it is important that you let the office know:

We look forward to seeing an improvement in attendance for the rest of the year. Our goal is to have 95% of tamariki attending school each day-let’s work together to make this happen!

What’s Happening at BMPS?

On Thursday 29 June we are are having a Whangai I te hautapu/Feeding the stars Ceremony. You will find more information about this below. Part of this ceremony will be a slideshow to honour those who have passed away in the last year (Poroporoaki ki nga tangata kua wheturangitia). If you would like someone from your family to be acknowlwdged, please send their photo, name and information to:
